My husband Steve always wore Ray-Ban wayfarer sunglasses, it was the style he adopted at one point and never went back. It was a perfect fit really…a true classic, just like him. Even when picking a style for his regular glasses prescription glasses, he chose the same style, inspired by JFK. Along with loving the wayfarer style, he also became quite adept at losing said sunglasses, especially the ones that I purchased for him as gifts. After losing the third pair, I started to buy the knockoffs. I mean, who could afford to keep this guy in the real thing?!
During this time in our lives, he also developed quite a skill at finding sunglasses in the water or right at the water’s edge. There were the occasional pair of other styles, but mostly all the same style.
Fast forward to a time, shortly after Steve’s passing…I was walking on the beach, talking to him, asking for guidance, when a pair of Ray-Ban wayfarers literally washed up at my feet. I picked them up, stared at them, looked up to the heavens, then took a photo of them in my hand. My only regret is that I didn’t take a photo of them in the surf; I wouldn’t make that mistake again. Because, you see, I have continued to find many “sunglasses in the sand” to this day; 40 pairs to be exact. I was even inspired to write a song and plan on recording it to share with you.
So…along with the latest sunrise collection, I’ve decided to offer a notecard pack with sunglasses as well. I hope they’ll inspire you as much as they’ve inspired me…😎
